Introducing our Distinctive Diamond Collection
Looking for a Diamond with a difference then look no further, our Distinctive Diamond Collection is beautifully crafted to showcase these wonderful and distinctive diamonds.
What makes these distinctive? They are naturally coloured diamonds with all the multi coloured inclusions visible.
Unlike the diamonds you are used to seeing these diamonds completely embody everything that diamonds go through in their billion of years life cycle and we like to think that they have grown to be a little story in a gem...
Each diamond is unique. Therefore you will never find one that looks the same.
We have taken these polished diamonds and they are all set in bespoke handmake mounts designed by our own diamond expert Becki.
Designed to show these diamonds at their best - they are set pavillion up, which means they are upside down or as we like to say 'bottoms up' this is to showcase each stone at it's best. Because they are set pavillion up it doesn't matter what way the light hits them they will always sparkle.
Jewellery is a wonderful way of keeping memories alive…
2020 and 2021 will be years we will all remember, for various reasons. For some bringing families together but for others losing family members. Many of our customers regularly say – ‘this piece of jewellery is sentimental’. They remember their Grandparents or parents wearing a piece of jewellery and fond memories come flooding back – memories of licking a bowl out after making cakes, or remembering your mum receiving that eternity ring for her birthday, your Grandfather reading stories to you as a child and seeing the ring he was wearing as he turned the pages as you ‘Went on a Bear Hunt’.
These items are passed down from generation to generation for them to enjoy.
We at Segal’s can restore jewellery, make it look as it did when it was first given. Did your Grandparent or Parent give you a ring that you wish to wear?
We can also provide those one off items for you to pass on to your children or grand-children. A gold locket to hold the photo that they love and keep it close to their heart, a signet ring to engrave with initials for your children to cherish forever!
Many of our vintage pieces are one of a kind, so buy vintage when you see it as you might never find the same thing again.
Segal’s Jewellers have been in business for over 100 years and we are here for you now.
You Provide The Moment – We Provide The Memory

Did you know? Rubies were called the 'King of Gems' by ancient Hindus. However we like to think they are the 'Queen of Stones' ...
For centuries, the ruby has represented nobility & passion. When worn, rubies are said to heighten all powerful emotions. This fiery precious stone is also known as the stone of courage and is said to ward off misfortune.
So, what is ruby? Rare, unique and valuable, the ruby birthstone is one of the most sought-after gemstones after diamonds. Unusually for a precious gemstone, the natural imperfections can actually increase the value and are used to confirm a ruby's authenticity.
A 40th wedding anniversary is certainly something to celebrate, and the traditional gift for 40 years of marriage is the ruby.
Ruby is the July birthstone – and it’s one of the most coveted of gems. The name is derived from the Latin word ruber, meaning “red” – the colour of love and passion. Few things catch the eye like the July birthstone. The finest colour of the birthstone for July is a deep red with a hint of purple, called “pigeon’s blood” in the trade. A variety of the mineral corundum, ruby gets its colour from trace amounts of the element chromium. The more chromium, the stronger the red. Here’s what you need to know about this beautiful July birthstone so you can better choose one for yourself or a loved one who was born in the month of July.
One of the four precious gemstones, Emeralds have been admired for their beauty and bold green colour for millenia. Not only is Emerald the birthstone for May, it is also the anniversary gemstone for 55 years of marriage, symbolising passion, loyalty and love.
The oldest emeralds are around 2.97 billion years old, but the first known emeralds were mined in Egypt in about 1500 BC. The gemstones were famously favoured by Cleopatra and featured in many of her royal adornments. Mummies were often buried with emeralds, although some of these stones have been analysed in recent years and were found to be examples of peridot.
Whilst Emeralds can be found all over the planet, 50% of emerald production takes place in Colombia. For generations, it has been believed that Emeralds are associated with enhancing clairvoyance; it was believed that placing one under the tongue can aid with seeing the future.
Emeralds were popular red-carpet fashion in the days of Elizabeth Taylor but were not popularised again until Angelina Jolie wore a pair of emerald earrings on the red carpet of the 2009 Oscars.
